Aqaba, Jordan's only outlet
to the sea and a transport
hub to the Gulf countries
took a major part in JPJet's
expansion plan.
From it's distinguished
location, which made it a
special economic zone, as
well as taking place in
attracting tremendous Arab
and World Wide investments
especially in the last five
years, the idea of building
a special terminal for
private jets travelers came
up. The terminal is located
at King Hussein
International Airport on a
10000m2 piece of land, close
to Royal Pavilion.
For that purpose JPJets has
recently signed an agreement
with Aqaba Development
Corporation for establishing
subject project that focuses
on providing ground handling
services. Exterior and
interior designs of the
project will be under the
responsibility of a group of
professional experienced
engineers.
The VIP terminal will
consist of three floors as
follows:
-
First floor will include
reception areas, offices
for staff, facilities
and services.
-
Second floor consists of
four rooms, including a
room specialized for
official and
governmental delegates
only while other rooms
will be specialized for
VIP’s and businessmen.
There will also be a
large meeting room
provided with
high-technologies in
addition to facilities
and services such as
bathrooms and kitchens,
this floor will be
overlooking the parking
area of private jets
through huge windows.
-
Third floor is divided
into six rooms, for crew
rest and stay if
necessary.
All above mentioned
description reflects the
unique exterior layout of
the building which fits
perfectly with the nature of
Aqaba’s location overlooking
mountains.
Moreover, part of the land
will be customized for
parking purposes of private
jets.
Through this project JPJets
will provide all ground
handling services related to
private jets arriving to
Aqaba special economic zone,
utilizing trained staff, and
all equipment related to
ground handling, while an
agreement is taking place
with the largest companies
specialized in subject
matter to provide necessary
equipment.
This project is considered
the first one in Jordan, as
a terminal specialized for
private jets passengers,
which is owned by a
Jordanian company in the
private sector. The project
will have many advantages
for Aqaba in specific, and
for attracting businessmen
to invest there, since
subject project will make
things easier in regard to
aviation business . The
project is expected to be
launched by the end of 2010. |
